Role Overview: The Sales Manager – WPI Program will be responsible for driving sales, market development, and demand generation across assigned geographies under the Women Prosper Initiative (WPI).
The role focuses on on-ground execution and localized strategy, working closely with Solar Sakhis, field teams, and partners to strengthen last-mile distribution and ensure consistent revenue growth.
The Sales Manager will play a key role in building sustainable, women-led rural enterprises while ensuring effective conversion of demand into sales within their regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Sales Execution & Regional Growth
- Drive sales targets and revenue growth within assigned geographies.
- Identify local opportunities for expanding reach within existing operational areas.
- Support demand creation and conversion through field engagement and local networks.
- Ensure performance of Solar entrepreneurs across villages/clusters in the region.
- Training provision to the Solar trainees and Ground coordinators
2. Field Coordination & Team Support
- Work closely with Program & Sales Team, Ground Coordinators, Solar entrepreneurs, and field teamsto drive sales.
- Support onboarding, handholding, and performance tracking of grassroots sales networks.
- Ensure field teams are aligned with sales processes, targets, and reporting systems.
- Coordinate with Training head on curriculum development and localisation.
3. Channel Development (Local Level)
- Strengthen and expand local distribution channels, including:
- Solar Sakhi networks
- Community institutions
- Local partnerships (NGOs, SHGs, schools, etc.)
- Identify and activate new micro-markets within the assigned geography.
4. Demand Generation & Local Marketing
- Execute localized marketing campaigns tailored to rural audiences.
- Support awareness-building activities such as demos, camps, and community meetings.
- Use vernacular and context-specific communication tools to improve product adoption.
5. Digital Integration & Lead Conversion
- Coordinate with central teams for leads generated through digital platforms (Sakhi App, website, etc.).
- Ensure timely follow-up and conversion of leads at the field level.
- Support field teams in using digital tools for sales tracking and customer engagement.
6. Sales Operations & Reporting
- Maintain accurate tracking of:
- Sales performance
- Lead conversion
- Inventory movement
- Share periodic reports and insights from the field.
- Flag challenges and recommend improvements for better efficiency.
7. Market Feedback & Insights
- Gather insights on:
- Customer preferences
- Pricing sensitivity
- Product performance
- Share feedback with central teams to support product and strategy improvements.
8. Supply Coordination
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely product availability in the region.
- Monitor stock movement and prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
9. Legacy Stock Optimization
- Support identification and movement of unsold or underutilized inventory in the field.
- Work with teams to enable redistribution or conversion into sales within the region.

Location: On ground (Majority) and remote.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
