Job Title: Basketball Coach
Role Overview
The Basketball Coach will be responsible for training and mentoring students, developing their basketball skills, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and preparing school teams for competitions while ensuring a safe and disciplined training environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct basketball coaching sessions for students of different age groups and skill levels.
- Teach fundamental basketball skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, rebounding, and game strategies.
- Prepare students for inter-school tournaments and competitions.
- Monitor student performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure student safety by enforcing court rules and sports safety guidelines.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship among students.
- Maintain attendance, performance records, and training schedules.
- Coordinate with school authorities, parents, and staff regarding student progress.
- Organize team selection trials, practice sessions, and sports events.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of sports equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline (B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed preferred).
- Recognized Basketball Coaching Certification (NIS / BFI or equivalent) – Preferred.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification – Preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of basketball coaching experience in a school, academy, or sports organization preferred.
- State/National-level playing or coaching experience will be an added advantage.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and coaching methods.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and mentor students.
- Strong organizational and classroom/team management skills.
- Knowledge of sports safety and injury prevention practices.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
