Job Summary:
The Ambulance Driver is responsible for safely transporting patients, medical staff, and emergency equipment to and from hospitals, homes, accident sites, and other healthcare facilities. The driver must ensure timely response to emergency calls, maintain the ambulance in good working condition, and comply with all traffic and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Transportation
- Safely transport patients to and from healthcare facilities.
- Assist patients in boarding and exiting the ambulance when required.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during transportation.
- Support emergency medical personnel during patient transfers.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to emergency ambulance calls.
- Drive safely and efficiently during emergency situations.
- Follow designated routes and traffic regulations while using emergency sirens and lights.
- Maintain communication with hospital control rooms and emergency departments.
Vehicle Maintenance
- Conduct daily inspection of the ambulance before duty.
- Check fuel, engine oil, brakes, tires, lights, siren, oxygen cylinders, and other equipment.
- Keep the ambulance clean, sanitized, and ready for service at all times.
- Report any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements immediately.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain ambulance logbooks and trip records.
- Record patient pick-up and drop-off details accurately.
- Ensure all vehicle documents, insurance, pollution certificate, and permits remain valid.
- Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
Safety Responsibilities
- Adhere to road safety and traffic regulations.
- Ensure proper handling of emergency medical equipment during transport.
- Wear appropriate uniform and identification while on duty.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum 10th/12th Pass.
- Valid Heavy/Light Motor Vehicle Driving License (as applicable).
- Knowledge of local routes and road networks.
- Minimum 2–3 years of driving experience; ambulance driving experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of First Aid and emergency response procedures is desirable.

Working Conditions

Pay: ₹10,758.57 - ₹18,121.01 per month
