Position- Quality & Design Manager (Aluminium Extrusions)
Location: Dabaspet, Tumkur District, Karnataka (On-site – Factory)
Education-Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or another relevant
technical discipline.
Exp-Minimum 3 years in Quality, QA/QC, Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical roles within aluminium extrusions, metals, or similar manufacturing industries. Candidates with significantly higher levels of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Salary: ₹30,000-₹50,000 per month
(Negotiable based on experience, technical competency, and overall suitability.)
Working Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (8 working hours)
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and technically capable Quality & Design Manager to
oversee both Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) and CAD Design functions
within our Aluminium Extrusions division.
Design & CAD Management
Review customer drawings and specifications for technical feasibility.
Create, modify, and maintain AutoCAD drawings for aluminium profiles, dies,
components, and related products.
Prepare counter drawings and technical revisions wherever required.
Program and operate the Video Measuring System (VMS/IMM) using CAD
drawings for inspection and measurement activities.
Maintain and continuously update the company's profile drawing catalogue and
technical database.
Organise, archive, and maintain customer drawings, internal design files, and
engineering documentation using a structured document control system.
Ensure all technical drawings comply with applicable engineering standards and
customer requirements.
Testing, Reports & Certification
Operate or supervise testing using manual measuring instruments and laboratory
equipment, including:
o Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Radius Gauges etc
o Surface Tables
o Hardness Testers
o Video Measuring System (VMS/IMM)
o Universal Tensile Strength (UTS) Machine
o Mass Spectrometer
o Other quality inspection equipment as applicable
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
Interpret test results and inspection reports to verify compliance with required
specifications.
Prepare quality reports, inspection records, material test reports (MTRs),
certificates of conformity, and customer test certificates.
Ensure complete traceability, accuracy, and timely maintenance of all quality
records.
Documentation, Compliance & Audits
Develop, maintain, and improve documentation supporting ISO 9001, ISO 14001,
BIS, and other applicable quality management systems.
Prepare documentation required for customer approvals, exports, audits,
certifications, and regulatory compliance.
Maintain controlled procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, quality
manuals, and standard operating procedures.
Coordinate and represent the department during internal, customer, and thirdparty
quality audits.
Customer & Technical Coordination
Act as the primary technical point of contact for customer quality-related
discussions.
Communicate professionally with customers regarding drawings, specifications,
quality requirements, inspection reports, and corrective actions.
Coordinate with customer quality departments and product development teams
to clarify technical requirements.
Visit customer facilities when required to address quality concerns, attend
technical meetings, or support audits.
Work closely with production, tooling, sales, and other departments to ensure
customer expectations are understood and consistently achieved.
Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Lead and mentor junior Quality and Design Executives, providing technical
guidance and day-to-day support.
Allocate work, review outputs, and ensure departmental activities are completed
accurately and on schedule.
Develop systems and processes based on customer requirements, product
complexity, and business needs.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality and design functions to
improve efficiency, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
Promote a culture of technical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and
continuous learning.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating, reviewing, and modifying drawings.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and
manufacturing tolerances.
Strong understanding of aluminium extrusion processes and quality requirements,
or the ability to apply existing technical knowledge to the aluminium industry.
Working knowledge of quality standards including IS, ASTM, EN, BIS, ISO 9001,
and ISO 14001.
Experience using quality inspection instruments and testing equipment.
Ability to analyse quality reports, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
Strong documentation, record management, and report preparation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general business software.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, & structured problem-solving ability.
Ability to independently manage responsibilities while leading a small team.
High level of professionalism when handling confidential customer drawings,
technical documentation, and proprietary manufacturing information.
Language Requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, and a good working
proficiency in Hindi and Kannada.
