JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Department: Design & Engineering
Job Summary
The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing material handling equipment such as Rotary Airlock Valves (RAV), Slide Gate Valves, Screw Conveyors, and associated components. The role involves detailed engineering, preparation of drawings, technical calculations, and coordination with production and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare GA and detailed fabrication drawings.
· Design components as per customer specifications and project requirements.
· Perform engineering calculations (torque, load, stress, shaft sizing, etc.).
· Select appropriate Material of Construction (MOC).
· Develop BOM (Bill of Materials).
· Ensure compliance with IS / ASTM / project standards.
· Coordinate with production for manufacturability.
· Modify designs based on site feedback or client comments.
· Maintain design documentation and revision control.
· Support Sales team with technical inputs during bidding.
· Assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
· Optimize designs for cost reduction without compromising quality.

Technical Skills Required
· Proficiency in AutoCAD / SolidWorks
· Knowledge of fabrication standards
· Understanding of mechanical design principles
· Knowledge of materials (MS, SS304, Hardox, Cast Iron, etc.)
· Basic knowledge of pneumatics and actuation systems
· Familiarity with tolerance stack-up & fits
Educational Qualification
B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
2–6 years in material handling equipment design preferred
Experience in fabrication-based industries
