About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Senior Executive to manage end-to-end
procurement operations, with a focus on engineering items and components supplied to
pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on
experience in vendor management, purchase order processing, and inventory control, along with an
understanding of the quality and compliance expectations typical of pharma/biopharma supply
chains.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchase Order Management
- Receive and review purchase indents/requisitions from internal stakeholders and
departments.
- Source and send enquiries to approved vendors for engineering items relevant to
pharma/biopharma applications.
- Compare vendor quotations on price, quality, and delivery terms; prepare and issue
Purchase Orders.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure cost-
effective procurement.
Vendor Management & Development
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors to expand and strengthen the supplier base,
with emphasis on suppliers serving pharma/biopharma industries.
- Assess vendor performance on quality, technology capability, on-time delivery, and credit terms.
- Coordinate with vendors on product development, pricing negotiations, and delivery
- commitments.
- Drive vendor development initiatives to reduce costs, minimize lead times, and create
- alternate sourcing options.
- Inventory & Warehouse Coordination
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP/Inventory Management software, including
- additions, updates, and deletions of material data.
- Oversee stock movement, ensuring accuracy and timely updates in the Inventory
- Management System.
- Coordinate physical inventory checks and ensure 100% stock accuracy.
- Manage receiving and shipping operations, ensuring materials are collected from vendors
- and dispatched to customers via appropriate transport modes.
- Reporting & Compliance
- Track and report key procurement metrics (cost savings, delivery performance, vendor
- scorecards) to management.
- Ensure procurement processes align with quality and documentation standards expected in
- pharma/biopharma supply chains (e.g., traceability, vendor qualification records).
- Maintain proper documentation for purchase orders, vendor communications, and material
- movement.
- Administrative Coordination
- Manage receipt and distribution of couriers/documents related to procurement to relevant
- departments.
- Maintain records of cheques, invoices, and related financial documentation exchanged with
- vendors.
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree (MCA, MBA, or equivalent in Supply Chain/Operations
- preferred).
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in purchase/procurement, preferably within engineering,
- industrial components, or pharma/biopharma-related industries.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and Inventory Management tools.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced), MS Word, and Outlook.
- Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Good understanding of supply chain metrics and cost-reduction strategies.
- Familiarity with quality/compliance expectations in pharma or biopharma supply chains is a
- strong plus (e.g., vendor qualification, documentation traceability).
- Excellent communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.

- Prior exposure to sourcing engineering/fluid-handling components (tubing, hoses, single-use
- systems, or similar) for pharma/biopharma clients.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail in vendor evaluation and cost analysis.
- Ability to multitask across procurement, inventory, and vendor development activities.
