Job Summary
We are seeking a Project Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience exclusively in the elevator / vertical transportation industry to manage the engineering side of our projects end to end. The role is responsible for project coordination, technical documentation, engineering communication with clients and stakeholders, formulation and pitching of engineering solutions, drawing verification, site measurements, and engineering oversight of installation, testing, and commissioning. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of elevator systems with excellent coordination and communication skills to ensure projects are executed accurately, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Engineering Communication
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Act as the primary engineering point of contact across project stakeholders
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, technical correspondence, and status updates
- Track engineering deliverables against project timelines and flag delays proactively
Drawing & Documentation Engineering
- Review and verify technical drawings, layouts, and shaft/hoistway details
- Ensure drawings align with site conditions, applicable codes, and client specifications
- Maintain accurate records of drawing revisions, approvals, and version control
Engineering Solutioning & Pitching
- Formulate engineering solutions for site-specific constraints and technical challenges
- Evaluate the technical feasibility of proposed designs and installation approaches
- Present and pitch engineering solutions to clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Recommend alternative approaches when standard solutions don't fit site conditions
Site Measurement & Verification
- Site measurements and shaft/hoistway verification
- Cross-check site dimensions against approved drawings and specifications
- Identify discrepancies and coordinate resolution with design and site teams
Installation, Testing & Commissioning (Engineering Oversight)
- Provide engineering support and guidance during installation
- Coordinate testing and commissioning activities from an engineering standpoint
- Ensure installation work aligns with approved drawings and applicable safety codes
- Support troubleshooting of engineering-related issues encountered on site
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure engineering work complies with applicable elevator codes and standards (e.g., EN 81, ASME A17.1, local regulations)
- Support quality checks and audits throughout the project lifecycle
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience, exclusively within the elevator / vertical transportation industry
- Strong knowledge of elevator drawings, layouts, and technical specifications
- Proven experience in project coordination and multi-stakeholder communication
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other relevant engineering/drawing software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for solution pitching and client interaction
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with elevator OEMs or manufacturers
- Working knowledge of installation, testing, and commissioning standards for elevators
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Kochi, Kerala (Kochi): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
