Civil / Structural Engineer – Role Description
The Civil / Structural Engineer will be responsible for supporting the civil and structural design activities related to solar power projects. The role involves preparation of design drawings, quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, and coordination with project teams to ensure timely and accurate project delivery. The engineer will work on ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects and contribute to the successful execution of solar installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare civil and structural drawings using AutoCAD for solar power projects.
- Assist in the design and drafting of module mounting structures for ground-mounted and rooftop solar plants.
- Prepare drawings for steel and RCC structures associated with solar installations.
- Support foundation design and detailing for various equipment and structures.
- Prepare quantity estimations and assist in BOQ preparation.
- Perform engineering calculations and support cost estimation activities.
- Coordinate with design and project teams to ensure accuracy and timely completion of deliverables.
- Review and update drawings based on project requirements and site conditions.
- Ensure designs and drawings comply with relevant IS codes and project specifications.
- Assist in preparing project documentation and technical reports.
- Provide technical support during project execution whenever required.
Qualifications & Skills
- B.Tech / Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
- 1–2 years of experience in Civil/Structural design, preferably in Solar EPC.
- Strong AutoCAD knowledge and drafting experience is essential.
- STAAD Pro knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel, along with knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity estimation, and related calculations.
- Familiarity with structural and civil engineering concepts and relevant IS codes.
- Good communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
