Role Overview
This role is responsible for leading Network Operations Center (NOC) teams in a 24x7 operational environment, ensuring seamless monitoring, incident management, and service restoration while maintaining network performance and SLA commitments.
The Manager, NOC acts as a hands-on operational leader, overseeing frontline engineers, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and managing critical incidents to minimize service disruptions. The role also focuses on improving operational efficiency through automation initiatives, process enhancements, and adherence to regulatory and operational standards, including E911 and NORS compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage NOC teams across multiple technology domains including IP, Transport, Voice, and Data Services.
- Act as the primary escalation authority for critical incidents, service disruptions, and network outages.
- Oversee network performance, event monitoring, outage management, and service restoration activities.
- Drive incident response efforts and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of customer-impacting issues.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and present findings, corrective actions, and improvement recommendations to leadership teams.
- Ensure compliance with operational processes, reporting standards, service level agreements, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage supervisors, team leads, and engineers while fostering a high-performance culture.
- Improve operational maturity through process optimization, automation initiatives, and technical accountability.
- Support strategic incident management and ensure effective resolution of high-priority service-impacting events.
- Maintain executive-level stakeholder communication during critical incidents and operational reviews.
- Support change management activities and risk mitigation efforts to ensure service stability.
- Present Weekly Business Reviews (WBR), Monthly Business Reviews (MBR), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), and service performance reports.
- Provide hands-on leadership during major outages and operational emergencies.
- Drive continual service improvement initiatives focused on service availability, performance, and customer experience.
