Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced technology and engineering leader to build and lead the company’s technical strategy, product development, manufacturing technology roadmap, and engineering organization.
The CTO will play a foundational role in establishing product platforms, recruiting engineering talent, selecting manufacturing technologies, and creating a globally competitive precision transmission business.
This position is intended for an individual who wants to help build a company rather than simply manage an existing operation.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy
- Define product roadmap for:
- Precision gears
- Planetary gearboxes
- Servo gear reducers
- Low-backlash transmission systems
- Custom motion-control gear solutions
- Identify target industries and technical requirements.
- Establish technology differentiation and competitive positioning.
Engineering Leadership
- Build and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Establish design standards, engineering procedures, and development processes.
- Create product validation and reliability testing programs.
- Develop intellectual property strategy and patent opportunities.
Manufacturing Technology
- Define manufacturing strategy for:
- Gear cutting
- Gear grinding
- Heat treatment
- Precision inspection
- Gearbox assembly
- Transmission testing
- Select equipment and manufacturing technologies.
- Establish quality systems consistent with global best practices.
New Product Development
- Lead concept-to-production development.
- Manage prototype development and testing.
- Drive continuous product improvement.
- Collaborate with customers on custom applications.
Strategic Leadership
- Participate in fundraising and investor discussions.
- Assist in evaluating partnerships, acquisitions, and technology licensing opportunities.
- Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team.
Required ExperienceMinimum
- 20+ years of experience in:
- Precision gears
- Planetary gearboxes
- Industrial transmissions
- Motion-control systems
- Demonstrated leadership of engineering teams.
- Experience bringing products from concept to commercial production.
Technical Expertise
Strong understanding of:
- Gear geometry
- Gear design calculations
- Gear grinding
- Heat treatment
- Low-backlash systems
- Bearing systems
- Lubrication systems
- Transmission efficiency
- Noise and vibration reduction
Knowledge of:
- AGMA standards
- DIN standards
- ISO standards
- Precision inspection systems
