Job Summary
The IT Executive is responsible for managing and maintaining all hospital IT infrastructure, Hospital Information System (HIS), hardware, software, networking, data security, backups, and user support for smooth hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities1. Hospital Information System (HIS) Support
- Maintain and monitor HIS/EMR software
- Create and manage user accounts and permissions
- Resolve HIS-related issues for doctors, nurses, billing, pharmacy, and lab users
- Coordinate with software vendors for upgrades and troubleshooting
- Ensure accurate data flow between departments
2. Hardware Management
- Install and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and biometric devices
- Troubleshoot hardware failures
- Coordinate AMC/service support for hardware equipment
- Maintain IT asset inventory
3. Network & Internet Management
- Monitor LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity across the hospital
- Configure routers, switches, and access points
- Ensure uninterrupted internet access
- Maintain CCTV network connectivity
4. Server & Database Maintenance
- Monitor server performance and uptime
- Perform daily data backups
- Verify backup restoration periodically
- Maintain database health and storage management
5. Data Security & Compliance
- Implement antivirus and endpoint security
- Ensure confidentiality of patient records
- Maintain password policies and access control
- Support NABH documentation and IT compliance
6. User Support & Training
- Provide technical support to hospital staff
- Train users on HIS modules and workflows
- Prepare user manuals and SOPs
7. Software & System Updates
- Install software patches and updates
- Monitor licensed software usage
- Ensure systems are updated and secure
8. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain IT issue logs
- Prepare daily/weekly system reports
- Maintain hardware/software inventory records
- Document backup and recovery reports
Daily Duties Checklist
- Verify HIS application status
- Check server and network uptime
- Confirm successful data backup
- Resolve user complaints/tickets
- Check printer and pharmacy label systems
- Monitor CCTV recording status
- Ensure antivirus status is updated
