Junior Design Engineer – Sheet Metal & SPM Automation
Key Responsibilities
- Sheet Metal Design
- Design sheet-metal components, machine frames, panels, brackets, guards, and enclosures.
- Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, flat patterns, and BOMs.
- Design components suitable for laser cutting, bending, welding, and fabrication.
- SPM Machine Design
- Assist in designing Special Purpose Machines (SPM) and customized automation equipment.
- Design machine mechanisms, fixtures, tooling, conveyors, and material-handling systems.
- Assist in pneumatic and mechanical component selection.
- CAD & Engineering
- Create and modify designs using SolidWorks / AutoCAD or equivalent software.
- Prepare manufacturing and assembly drawings with proper dimensions and tolerances.
- Follow standard components and design practices.
- Manufacturing & Assembly Support
- Coordinate with fabrication, machining, assembly, and electrical teams.
- Provide technical support during fabrication and machine assembly.
- Identify design issues and make necessary engineering modifications.
- Testing & Continuous Improvement
- Support SPM installation, testing, trial runs, and commissioning.
- Improve machine designs for manufacturability, reliability, safety, and cost reduction.
- Maintain design revisions, BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation.
Required Skills
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics / related field.
- 0–3 years of experience in sheet-metal design, machine design, or industrial automation.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
- Basic understanding of sheet-metal fabrication, laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical components, pneumatics, and automation machinery.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
