Job Post: Quality Customer Support
Qualification:
B.Tech / B.E / Diploma / Equivalent Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in automobile industry (Sheet Metal)
05–08Years (Mandatory)
Salary:
₹40,000 – ₹50,000 CTC
Key Responsibilities & Skills
Review and understand customer specifications, drawings, standards, and quality requirements.
Communicate customer expectations to production, engineering, and quality teams.
Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.
Receive and document customer complaints related to quality issues.
Coordinate investigation of root causes using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, or Fishbone Analysis.
Provide timely responses and corrective action reports to customers.
Track complaint closure and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
Monitor customer quality metrics such as:
PPM (Parts Per Million defects)
Customer rejection rates
On-time corrective action closure
Customer satisfaction scoresPrepare and present quality performance reports.Coordinate customer audits and plant visits.Prepare required quality documentation and records.Support audit findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.Lead customer-related corrective and preventive action activities.Work with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to eliminate recurring issues.Verify implementation and effectiveness of actions.Participate in APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities where applicable.Support PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions.Ensure customer approvals are obtained before production launch.Maintain customer complaint logs and quality records.Prepare quality reports, deviation reports, concession requests, and customer presentations.Ensure traceability and proper record retention.Act as the primary interface between customers and internal departments.Coordinate with:
Production
Quality Assurance
Engineering
Supply Chain
Ensure quick resolution of customer concerns.
Analyze customer feedback and quality trends
Drive improvement projects to reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction
Promote preventive quality practices throughout the organization.
Key Skills Required-
Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes (Stamping, punching, bending, welding, Surface Treatments, powder coating, assembly).
Understanding of quality tools (8D, 5 Why, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP).
Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001& 45001 and, for automotive suppliers, IATF 16949.
