Teaching at the GiL Institute
The GiL Institute (German Intercultural Language Institute) is a (native) German institute located in Vyttila, Kochi. We teach young Indian people and adults (mainly) between the ages of 18 and 30 the German language according to the criteria of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Furthermore we support them in realizing their dream of studying or studying in Germany to be able to work.
The students of the GiL Institute are linguistically trained through high-quality German language courses at levels A1 - B2 and receive comprehensive exam preparation for the upcoming language exam with Goethe, Telc or ÖSD.
Furthermore, students can take part in special integration courses and orientation seminars in order to be adequately prepared for life and work in Germany.

We are hiring a German language teacher. Join our team which at the moment exists only out of native German teachers
You will be part of a strong international team and, after a comprehensive introduction, you will independently hold German courses at levels A1 - B2.
Your classes will include around 20 highly motivated students between the ages of 18 and 30 who can't wait to get to know you!
You will most likely start with teaching the A1 and A2 course. This gives you time to get to know your new class and familiarize yourself with the curriculum and teaching materials/methods of the GIL Institute. To make teaching easier for you, the curriculum, teaching aids and all teaching materials will be explained and made available to you after an introduction.
Of course, you can also add your own touch to your course within the curriculum and design it with your own ideas and projects.

What we look for:
* A teacher with at least German level B2, but preferably C1 or C2.
* A teacher with teaching Experience of at least 2 years.
* A teacher who is available to work least 5 hours per day, 5 days per week.
* A real trustworthy team player
* Someone who we can rely on for at least 6 months.
* Someone who is at least 22 years old
Working hours:
We look for a teacher who can do 2 times per day a 2,5 hour lesson, 5 days per week + 3hrs per week other (administrative/school related) tasks.
Each course takes place from Monday to Friday and includes a total of 104 hours. Depending on the type of course, students learn either 2 hours (standard course), 2.5 hours (standard course +) or 4 hours (intensive course) per day in their respective course. On weekends and Indian national holidays, you and the students are free and there are no classes.
The institute also has a German library and an attractively designed homework room in which students can use a variety of exercises and games to deepen what they have learned. There they can also do their homework and exchange ideas with their classmates.
Each teacher takes care of homework support 1 - 2 days a week and thus has the opportunity to exchange ideas with the students and answer questions. This time should, above all, be used to motivate the students to work independently.
The institute also has several classrooms, 2 offices, a meeting room, a tea kitchen and a teacher's lounge. The teacher's lounge can be used at any time to prepare lessons or during breaks.
After each language course, students get 1 - 2 weeks of vacation to repeat what they have learned and prepare for the internal assessment test or language exam.
