Role Overview
We're seeking a passionate IB ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Teacher to design and deliver technology education for Primary Years Programme (PYP) students. You'll integrate technology as a tool for inquiry, creativity, and problem-solving; teaching students to be creators, not just consumers, of technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons aligned with IB PYP framework and transdisciplinary units
- Teach coding, computational thinking, robotics, and digital literacy to students aged 3-10
- Integrate technology across Units of Inquiry to support student research, creation, and presentation
- Guide students in responsible digital citizenship, online safety, and ethical technology use
- Facilitate maker-based learning using tools like robotics kits, design software, and multimedia creation
- Support classroom teachers in integrating technology into their Units of Inquiry
- Maintain and manage school technology resources, devices, and maker lab equipment
- Assess student progress through project-based work, portfolios, and practical demonstrations
- Stay current with educational technology trends and tools appropriate for young learners
- Participate in collaborative planning with PYP teachers and professional development sessions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education Technology, or related field
- Minimum 1 year teaching experience (IB PYP experience strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of age-appropriate technology education for children aged 3-10
- Proficiency in coding platforms for children (Scratch, Code.org, Blockly, etc.)
- Experience with robotics/STEM tools (LEGO Robotics, Bee-Bots, Sphero, etc.)
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Understanding of inquiry-based learning and how technology supports student agency
- Ability to teach digital citizenship and online safety to young children
Preferred Qualifications
- IB PYP training or certification (or willingness to complete)
- Experience integrating technology across transdisciplinary units
- Knowledge of design thinking and maker education principles
- Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education or similar platforms
- Experience with multimedia creation tools (video editing, graphic design, animation)
- Understanding of assistive technology for diverse learners
- Background in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) education
