Job Summary
The Retail Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, sales performance, customer experience, and profitability of the store. The role requires strong leadership to manage store teams, drive sales, maintain operational excellence, and ensure seamless integration of in-store and e-commerce initiatives, including omnichannel services such as Click & Collect, online order fulfillment, and returns management.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the retail store, ensuring efficient and smooth functioning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, visual merchandising, and brand standards.
- Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and an organized shopping environment.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash management, and daily operational reporting.
Sales & Business Performance
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales conversion, average bill value, units per transaction, footfall conversion, and customer retention.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
- Analyze sales reports, customer trends, and business performance to identify growth opportunities.
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Resolve customer concerns, complaints, and escalations effectively.
- Build long-term customer relationships through loyalty programs and personalized service.
- Ensure consistent execution of customer engagement initiatives.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop store associates and supervisors.
- Prepare staff schedules and manage workforce productivity.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven work culture.
Inventory & Merchandising
- Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing stock loss.
- Oversee stock receiving, replenishment, transfers, cycle counts, and stock audits.
- Ensure visual merchandising aligns with company guidelines and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor shrinkage and implement loss prevention measures.
Omnichannel & E-commerce Operations
- Manage Click & Collect, Ship-from-Store, and online order fulfillment processes.
- Coordinate online returns and exchanges handled through the store.
- Ensure timely processing of digital orders while maintaining service quality.
- Support omnichannel initiatives to enhance customer convenience and drive sales.
Financial & Compliance Management
- Monitor store expenses and maintain profitability.
- Ensure accurate cash handling, banking, and financial reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, health and safety requirements, and audit standards.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational and sales reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in retail or e-commerce operations, with at least 2–3 years in a Store Manager or equivalent leadership role.
- Experience in fashion, lifestyle, electronics, grocery, beauty, consumer goods, or omnichannel retail is preferred.
