Job Summary:
The Rigger is responsible for safely lifting, moving, positioning, and securing heavy materials, machinery, and ship components using cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment in the shipbuilding and ship repair environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rigging and lifting operations for heavy ship structures, blocks, machinery, and equipment.
- Select and inspect rigging gear such as slings, shackles, hooks, chains, and spreader bars before use.
- Attach loads properly and ensure balanced and secure lifting.
- Guide crane operators using standard hand signals and radio communication.
- Ensure lifting activities follow approved lifting plans and safety procedures.
- Inspect lifting points and structural integrity before lifting.
- Load and unload heavy materials and ship components.
- Maintain rigging equipment in good condition and report defective tools.
- Follow shipyard safety rules and wear required PPE at all times.
- Assist in installation and alignment of heavy machinery and structures.
- Ensure safe working areas during lifting operations.
Requirements & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Rigger in shipbuilding, ship repair, or heavy industry.
- Knowledge of rigging methods, load calculations, and lifting techniques.
- Ability to read lifting plans and basic drawings.
- Certified Rigger or Lifting Supervisor certification preferred.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and hazard control.
Working Conditions:
- Shipyard, dry dock, and onboard vessels.
- Exposure to heavy machinery, noise, heights, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Shift work and overtime as per project requirements.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
