We are seeking a high-caliber Head of Business Development to serve as the strategic architect for HAKKI's growth in India. You will own the blueprint and lead the strategy required to scale our revenue base — from platform partnerships to new business lines — reporting into the Managing Director, India, and the Head of Business Development at HQ.
The Mission:
- Revenue Architecture: Own and grow HAKKI's vehicle supply partnerships with ride-hailing platforms, and lead in-car advertising as a new revenue vertical.
- P&L Ownership: Own India's business development P&L — analyze market and partner-level data to identify growth opportunities and financial efficiencies.
- M&A & Partnerships: Source, evaluate, and lead execution of M&A and partnership opportunities that drive the growth of the entity.
- Strategic Liaison: Act as the vital link between ground-level execution in India and HQ, ensuring corporate strategy translates into on-the-ground results.
- Team Building: Build and manage the India BD team — hire, train, and shape the local org structure.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and scale the in-car advertising revenue line in India.
- Identify, evaluate, and drive M&A and partnership opportunities in-market, escalating the strongest to the MD, India, and HQ.
- Build out the India BD team, including hiring and structured training of team members.
- Deliver regular market intelligence, competitive analysis, and revenue forecasting to the MD, India, and HQ.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and Board-level stakeholders on live deals.
Who You Are
- BBA or MBA in Business, Finance, Strategy, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Management Consulting, or a Strategy-related role (0→1 business building experience a strong plus).
- Experience in mobility, fleet, fintech, or platform-adjacent industries preferred — candidates from other industries welcome if they show strong relevant skills and potential.
- You have a proven ability to source, structure, and close partnership or deal opportunities independently.
- You are a data-driven decision-maker who uses metrics to identify, prioritize, and act on growth opportunities.
- You possess the emotional intelligence to lead a growing team with empathy and the professional authority to engage with board-level directors and HQ leadership.
- You are a self-starter who thrives operating with autonomy, reporting to leadership across India and HQ.
- Fluent English required; Japanese language ability a plus.
