Role Summary:
The teacher will be responsible for facilitating learning in Physics, Mathematics and related Science subjects through a Waldorf-inspired, experiential and child-centred approach. The role involves bringing concepts alive through observation, experimentation, practical experiences, stories of scientific discoveries, artistic integration and meaningful connections with the natural world from Grade 6 to Grade 10th.
The teacher will nurture scientific curiosity, logical thinking, creativity and a deep understanding of how scientific principles connect with everyday life. The teacher will create a classroom environment where students learn through exploration, questioning, hands-on activities and reflective thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Physics, Mathematics and Science lessons aligned with the curriculum and developmental needs of students.
- Design lessons that balance conceptual understanding, practical application, imagination and experiential learning.
- Use demonstrations, experiments, models, nature observations and real-life examples to develop scientific understanding.
- Encourage students to observe, question, investigate and arrive at their own understanding of scientific concepts.
- Integrate art, movement, geometry, patterns, measurement and practical activities wherever appropriate.
- Develop and maintain well-structured lesson blocks, classroom resources and learning experiences.
- Conduct laboratory activities and guide students in safe, responsible and meaningful scientific exploration.
- Assess student learning through observations, written work, projects, practical work and age-appropriate evaluations.
- Maintain student records and provide thoughtful feedback on academic and personal growth.
- Support students in developing problem-solving abilities, precision, perseverance and independent thinking.
- Adapt teaching approaches according to individual learning needs and developmental stages of children.
- Create a warm, respectful and disciplined classroom environment that supports confidence and curiosity.
- Encourage participation in science projects, exhibitions, research activities and interdisciplinary learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and learning journey.
- Participate actively in faculty meetings, teacher development programmes, school events and collaborative planning.
- Continuously work on personal and professional growth as a teacher.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mathematics, Science or a related subject.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teacher education qualification from a recognized institution.
- Strong understanding of Physics, Mathematics and general Science concepts.
- Ability to connect academic concepts with practical life experiences.
- Interest in child development and Waldorf-inspired education.
