Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Setter cum Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The candidate will be responsible for CNC machine setting, programming, tool selection, offset setting, first-piece inspection, and ensuring production as per drawing and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC machines as per production requirements.
- Prepare and modify CNC programs based on component drawings and machining requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and machining specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, holders and machining parameters.
- Perform tool setting, work offset setting and tool offset corrections.
- Carry out first-piece inspection and dimensional verification.
- Monitor machining processes and make necessary program/offset adjustments.
- Ensure components are produced as per specified dimensions and quality standards.
- Identify machining issues such as tool wear, dimensional variation and surface finish problems.
- Maintain proper machine setting parameters and production records.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams for resolving machining-related issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, 5S and workplace standards.
- Minimize tool consumption, rejection, rework and machine downtime.
- Support continuous improvement activities related to machining processes.
Required Skills
- CNC machine setting and operation.
- CNC programming knowledge.
- Knowledge of G-code and M-code.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts and machining parameters.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge etc.
- Ability to perform tool and work offset corrections.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of precision machining practices.
Qualification
ITI / Diploma – Mechanical / Tool & Die / Production / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
2–5 years of relevant experience in CNC machining, preferably in precision engineering / aerospace / automotive manufacturing.
Preferred
- Experience in CNC Turning / VMC / CNC machining centres.
- Experience in precision components manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Fanuc/Siemens or similar CNC controls will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
