Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented QA - NPD Professional with 3 to 4 years of experience in the Polymer Industry. The candidate will be responsible for supporting new product development activities, ensuring product quality, conducting trials, preparing quality documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve successful product launches and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Feasibility Studies
- Participate in feasibility studies for new product development and upgradation of existing products.
- Evaluate quality requirements, process capabilities, and technical risks during the development phase.
2. Design Review
- Participate in design review meetings to ensure quality and reliability requirements are incorporated into product design.
- Provide quality-related inputs during the product development lifecycle.
3. Risk Assessment
- Identify potential product and process risks using tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, and other risk assessment methodologies.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans for identified risks.
4. Quality Planning
- Support the development and implementation of quality plans for New Product Development projects.
- Define quality checkpoints, validation requirements, and control measures.
5. Product Trials
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct trials for new products and product improvements.
- Record observations, analyze trial results, and recommend necessary actions for successful implementation.
6. Testing and Validation
- Perform product testing as per approved test plans and specifications.
- Validate product performance, quality, and reliability before commercialization.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Sales, and R&D teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- Support smooth transition from development to commercial production.
8. Sample Preparation and Submission
- Prepare samples of new and modified products for customer evaluation and approval.
- Coordinate with customers and internal teams for feedback and corrective actions.
9. Documentation
- Prepare and maintain NPD-related documents, including:
- Process Flow Diagram (PFD)
- Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Control Plans
- Test Plans
- Validation Reports
- Trial Reports
10. Compliance and Quality Systems
- Support compliance with Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems, including:
- ISO 9001
- IATF 16949
- ISO 14001
- ISO 45001
- Ensure all NPD activities meet applicable customer and regulatory requirements.
11. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process and product quality improvements.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Plastics Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in Quality Assurance and New Product Development within the Polymer Industry.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Hands-on experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/SAP systems.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and quality tools.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to automotive or industrial polymer products.
- Understanding of APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
