Senior Staff Nurse – Job Description
Designation: Senior Staff Nurse
Department: Nursing – Ward / Labour Ward
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate and quality nursing care to patients as per hospital protocols.
- Manage and monitor patients in the ward/labour ward, including vital signs, medication and treatment.
- Assist doctors during procedures, rounds, emergency situations and deliveries as required.
- Ensure proper pre-operative, post-operative and maternity patient care.
- Supervise and guide junior nursing staff and ensure proper duty allocation.
- Maintain accurate nursing records, medication charts, patient files and handover reports.
- Ensure strict compliance with infection control, medication safety and patient safety protocols.
- Monitor availability and proper use of medicines, equipment and nursing supplies.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, laboratory, pharmacy and other hospital departments.
- Handle emergencies promptly and escalate critical patient conditions to the concerned doctor.
- Ensure proper shift handover and continuity of patient care.
- Maintain discipline, cleanliness and professional standards within the nursing unit.
- Report any incident, shortage, negligence or operational issue to the Nursing In-Charge/MS immediately.
Pay: ₹13,066.92 - ₹20,000.00 per month
