JOB DESCRIPTION – PURCHASE ENGINEER
Position: Purchase Engineer
Department: Procurement & Purchase

Education
- Graduate / Postgraduate in Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering background is preferred
Experience
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in Purchase / Procurement
- Experience in stainless steel and carbon steel procurement preferred
- Hands-on experience in flanges purchasing is required/preferred

Job Responsibilities
- Handle procurement and purchasing activities for stainless steel and carbon steel materials.
- Manage flange purchasing and coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suitable vendors based on quality, price, delivery, and reliability.
- Conduct vendor evaluation and cost analysis to ensure competitive purchasing.
- Prepare and distribute Request for Proposals (RFPs) to potential vendors based on required specifications.
- Review quotations, compare commercial terms, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible price and terms.
- Lead supplier negotiations regarding pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and other contractual conditions.
- Manage the complete purchase order cycle, from requisition to final delivery.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
- Maintain strong and professional supplier relationships.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding order status, quality issues, delivery schedules, and pending requirements.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have a Mechanical Engineering background with 2–4 years of experience in purchase/procurement, particularly in stainless steel, carbon steel, and flanges. The candidate should be confident in vendor management, negotiation, quotation comparison, cost analysis, and order management.
