Position Description: Hiring a Mainframe Developer with strong skills in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2 to develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications. Experience with Agile teams and troubleshooting is required. Knowledge of VSAM, IMS DB, Endevor, APIs, and AWS is a plus.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using COBOL, DB2 Stored Procedures, and CICS modules
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, and production support activities
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolution using debugging and monitoring tools
- Work with VSAM, IMS DB, and DB2 for data processing and management
- Manage code promotion, package creation, and deployment activities using Endevor
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams during sprint planning, development, testing, and release cycles
- Support API integration and web service-based implementations where applicable
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, SDLC processes, and organizational compliance requirements
- Participate in performance tuning, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to cloud adoption initiatives and support applications with AWS integration where applicable
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Mandatory Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2
- Good experience in VSAM and IMS DB processing
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using tools such as Xpeditor
- Good knowledge of Endevor, including package creation, code migration, deployment, and release management processes
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams (Mandatory)
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and end-to-end development processes
Good to Have Skills
- . Experience with Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs)
- . Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman, Bruno, and Insomnia
- . Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace (DT) and Splunk
- . Exposure to AWS cloud services; AWS certification is an added advantage
