Job Title: Sewing Machine Trainer
Job Summary:
Train and upskill sewing machine operators on all types of industrial machines to improve quality, speed, and productivity in the garment production line.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Training & Skill Development
- Conduct hands-on training for new and existing machine operators
- Teach operation of all types of industrial sewing machines: Single Needle, Double Needle, Overlock, Flatlock, Button, Bartack, etc.
- Train on stitch quality, seam types, fabric handling, and machine settings
- Conduct refresher training and productivity improvement programs
2. Quality & Productivity
- Ensure operators follow correct stitching methods and quality standards
- Monitor operator performance and reduce rejection/rework %
- Guide operators to achieve target output with quality
- Identify skill gaps and provide 1-on-1 coaching
3. Machine & Process Support
- Demonstrate proper machine threading, tension setting, and basic troubleshooting
- Coordinate with maintenance for machine issues
- Support line setup for new styles and provide operator guidance
4. Reporting & Discipline
- Maintain training records, attendance, and skill assessment reports
- Ensure discipline, safety, and 5S in the training area
- Report daily progress to Production Manager
Education / Qualification
Experience: Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in garment industry
Technical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of operating *all types of industrial sewing machines
Training Skills: Ability to train and guide machine operators effectively
Communication: Good communication and practical training skills in Tamil + basic English preferred
