About the Role
IMP Engineering & Power Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Traffic Engineer & Logistics Coordinator to manage the transportation and movement of heavy engineering equipment from ports to project sites across India. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in logistics planning, route surveys, statutory clearances, and coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and safe delivery of project materials.
This role requires excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills, particularly for transporting Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC) and heavy industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate transportation of heavy engineering equipment from ports to project sites.
- Conduct route planning and route feasibility studies for heavy cargo movement.
- Prepare and review route maps, identifying bottlenecks, bridge capacities, overhead obstacles, and road conditions.
- Coordinate with site in-charges, transport agencies, port authorities, and logistics partners to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor shipments and ensure timely delivery of materials to project locations.
- Liaise with government authorities to obtain necessary transportation permissions and clearances.
- Develop contingency plans to address transportation challenges and delays.
- Maintain logistics documentation, movement reports, and transportation records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable road transport regulations and safety standards.
- Support project teams by providing logistics updates and resolving transportation-related issues.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4–5 years of experience in logistics planning, traffic engineering, transportation management, or heavy equipment movement.
- Experience in handling port-to-site logistics for industrial or infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with route surveys, transport permits, and heavy cargo movement.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in handling Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC) or heavy equipment transportation.
- Knowledge of Indian transportation regulations and logistics compliance.
- Working knowledge of route mapping is a must.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and logistics documentation.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational abilities.
