Job Summary:
The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) will lead the overall technology strategy, product development, engineering innovation, and technical operations of the 2-Wheeler Electric Vehicle manufacturing business. The role involves driving end-to-end EV product development, battery technology integration, vehicle performance optimization, manufacturing technology advancement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The CTO will play a critical leadership role in strengthening R&D capabilities and delivering innovative, reliable, and cost-effective electric mobility solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Strategy & Innovation
- Develop and implement the company’s long-term technology roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Lead research and development initiatives for electric 2-wheeler platforms.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging EV technologies, including battery systems, motor controllers, BMS, power electronics, and vehicle connectivity.
- Drive innovation to enhance product performance, safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
2. Product Development & Engineering
- Lead end-to-end vehicle design and engineering, including:
- Electric drivetrain systems
- Battery pack development & thermal management
- Vehicle control systems & software integration
- Chassis and vehicle architecture development
- Oversee prototype development, testing, validation, and homologation.
- Ensure timely product launches and lifecycle management.
3. Manufacturing Technology & Quality
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure scalable and efficient production processes.
- Implement advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and digitalisation.
- Establish quality assurance systems and technical standards.
- Optimise product cost through design and process improvements.
4. Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with automotive, safety, and EV regulatory standards.
- Manage homologation, certification, and testing requirements.
- Stay updated with government EV policies, sustainability norms, and industry best practices.
5. Vendor & Technology Partnerships
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with battery suppliers, component manufacturers, and technology providers.
- Evaluate vendor technical capabilities and ensure supplier quality standards.
6. Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Build and lead high-performing engineering and R&D teams.
- Foster innovation culture and cross-functional collaboration.
- Mentor technical leaders and develop succession planning strategies
7. Budgeting & Project Management
- Manage R&D and engineering budgets.
- Monitor project timelines, costs, and technical performance.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
