Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate, qualified, and dynamic Physical Education Teacher to lead our sports and wellness program. The ideal candidate will inspire students to embrace active lifestyles, develop physical literacy, and build teamwork, discipline, and resilience through structured PE and sports.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Delivery & Instruction
- Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate PE curriculum in alignment with international standards.
- Conduct structured classes in fitness, athletics, team sports, yoga, aerobics, and fundamental movement skills.
- Integrate health education, nutrition awareness, and life skills into PE lessons.
- Adapt activities for students with diverse abilities and ensure inclusive participation.
2. Events & Co-curricular Management
- Plan and execute Annual Sports Day, Sports Week, fitness challenges, and wellness workshops.
- Coordinate with external vendors/academies for specialized coaching as needed.
- Lead morning assemblies for physical activity/yoga and ensure active breaks are implemented.
3. Safety & Administration
- Ensure all sports equipment is maintained and safety protocols are followed during activities.
- Maintain student attendance, assessment rubrics, and term-wise PE reports.
- Supervise students during PE periods, dispersal, and school sports events.
- Collaborate with school nurse on injury management and fitness clearance.
4. Pastoral Care & Mentorship
- Serve as a role model promoting sportsmanship, gender equity in sports, and healthy living.
- Participate in school events, PTMs, and staff meetings as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education [B.P.Ed] or Master’s [M.P.Ed] from a recognized university.
- Certifications: Valid First Aid & CPR certification. NIS coaching certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of teaching PE in CBSE/IB/Cambridge/International schools.
- Skills: Proficiency in 2-3 major sports. Strong classroom management and communication skills in English.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of fitness assessment tools, sports science basics, and PE assessment frameworks.
- Exposure to international PE curriculum.
