Role Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Manager - Events to develop, manage, and lead on-ground campaigns and events designed to engage the public, raise funds, and elevate brand visibility for Sense India. Working closely with the Head of Public Engagement, you will play a critical role in achieving our strategic fundraising targets while providing top-tier service to our supporters and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and execute creative models and on-the-ground campaigns to activate existing supporters and engage new audiences.
- Create an event calendar and concept notes, initially focusing on major marathons in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore.
- Target specific audiences (Individuals, HNIs, Corporations, Students, General Public) to build effective brand visibility for the cause of deafblindness.
- Develop localized event concepts focusing on cities where Sense India operates direct centres.
- Manage overall event logistics in tight coordination with the Public Engagement and Communications teams.
- Identify and onboard agencies, corporations, and celebrities to associate with Sense India and liaise with the media for pre- and post-event coverage.
- Research markets to identify third-party event opportunities for brand placement, fundraising, and publicity.
- Deliver pitches and presentations to corporate audiences to secure partnerships and present innovative, mutually beneficial fundraising ideas.
- Map fundraising opportunities across educational institutions, clubs, stalls, and malls.
- Prepare and submit timely fund utilization reports to donors, sponsors, and event organizers.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity to the impact of gender, race, and disability on professional attitudes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential:
- Graduation or above in any discipline (e.g., MBA in Marketing or Customer Relations).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in donor or customer relations management.
- Proven understanding of managing events and engaging with companies and the public.
- Demonstrated experience in setting, monitoring, and reporting on income and expenditure budgets.
- Experience developing research and development programs to identify new engagement opportunities and track market competitors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to multitask, prioritize own workload, and work independently without close supervision.
- IT self-sufficient with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
Desirable:
- Experience or familiarity with databases.
- Knowledge of or empathy with the work for people with disabilities/deafblindness.
