To manage and oversee the organization's entire vehicle fleet, ensuring maximum vehicle availability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, timely maintenance, cost control, and safe transportation operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the entire vehicle fleet.
- Plan and monitor vehicle deployment based on project and operational requirements.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed for all vehicles.
- Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, breakdown support, and emergency maintenance.
- Monitor vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, mileage, and operating costs.
- Ensure all vehicles have valid insurance, registration, permits, fitness certificates, and pollution certificates.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle history, maintenance, repairs, and documentation.
- Monitor GPS tracking systems and ensure efficient vehicle movement.
- Coordinate with workshop, purchase, and stores for spare parts and maintenance requirements.
- Supervise drivers and ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
- Verify driver licenses, documentation, and statutory compliance.
- Investigate vehicle accidents, breakdowns, and prepare incident reports.
- Monitor daily vehicle checklists and ensure defects are rectified promptly.
- Control fleet operating expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Ensure timely renewal of vehicle-related documents and statutory requirements.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fleet performance and MIS reports.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely vehicle allocation.
- Ensure compliance with transport laws, road safety regulations, and company SOPs.
- Conduct periodic inspections of vehicles and driver performance.
- Manage vendor relationships for vehicle maintenance, fuel, tyres, and spare parts.
- Implement initiatives to improve fleet efficiency, vehicle uptime, and driver productivity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certification in Fleet or Transport Management is an added advantage.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in fleet, transport, or vehicle management.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, mining, or logistics industries is preferred.
