- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for plant equipment and utilities.
- Ensure maximum machine availability to support production requirements.
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Monitor machine performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Purchase departments for maintenance support.
- Maintain maintenance records, machine history cards, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure timely availability of critical spares and consumables.
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.
- Implement TPM, Kaizen, and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Improve machine uptime and equipment availability.
- Reduce breakdown frequency and downtime.
- Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance schedules.
- Optimize maintenance costs through effective planning.
- Improve MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
- Reduce MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Ensure zero major safety incidents related to maintenance activities.
- Maintain audit and statutory compliance.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and guide maintenance technicians and contractors.
- Ensure proper manpower planning and work allocation.
- Drive continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Promote safety culture and adherence to maintenance procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Knowledge of TPM, Root Cause Analysis, and Reliability Engineering.
- Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and maintenance documentation.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / B.E. Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in maintenance within manufacturing industries.
- Automotive industry experience preferred.
Authorities
- Authorized to execute maintenance activities as per approved procedures.
- Responsible for equipment reliability, maintenance records, and safety compliance.
- Authorized to recommend spare procurement and maintenance improvements.
