Role Responsibilities
- Independently execute daily production as per approved recipes and production plans.
- Prepare breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, viennoiserie and other bakery products with consistency and attention to quality.
- Operate bakery equipment, mixers, ovens, proofers and related machinery safely and efficiently.
- Monitor baking parameters, product appearance, texture and finish to ensure consistent quality.
- Meet daily production targets while minimizing waste.
- Maintain strict adherence to recipe specifications and production standards.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of ingredients using FIFO/FEFO principles.
- Identify and report quality issues, equipment problems or process deviations promptly.
- Demonstrate proper production techniques and encourage adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Foster teamwork, discipline and a positive work culture within the kitchen.
- Assist in production planning based on daily demand.
- Support inventory control by minimizing material wastage and reporting shortages.
- Participate in new product trials and process improvements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area throughout the shift.
Experience and skill set Needed
- 2–6 years of experience in a commercial bakery or central kitchen
- Hands-on experience in breads/ buns/ viennoiserie production
- Experience in cakes and pastries
- Experience in cookies and biscuits
- Knowledge of bakery ingredients and recipe scaling
- Experience working with industrial ovens
- Experience using mixers, planetary mixers and bakery equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good understanding of commercial bakery operations.
- Strong attention to detail and product consistency.
- Ability to work efficiently under production deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to mentor junior staff.
- Commitment to food safety, hygiene and quality standards.
Work Environment
This position is based in a commercial bakery production kitchen equipped with industrial baking equipment and ovens running 3 shifts
Candidates should be comfortable:
