Your Impact: We're hiring a Lead Software Engineer to own the technical direction of EDR/MDR’s core platform. You will set architectural standards, drive cross-cutting initiatives across our Go& Python services, mentor a team of engineers, and partner with product, SRE, and security to deliver a reliable, scalable, multi-tenant SaaS. This is a hands-on lead role — expect to spend a significant portion of your time in code, design reviews, and production debugging.
What the role offers:
- Own the end-to-end architecture of the platform: ingest pipeline (Kafka), back-office services, front end APIs, detection/alerting, and data stores (PostgreSQL, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Redis).
- Define and enforce engineering standards: code review, testing, observability, security, and release practices (CI/CD, pre-commit hooks, containerized builds).
- Drive multi-tenant concerns: data isolation, retention policies, partner/customer/integration data model, RBAC, and PKI/mTLS between agents and the platform.
- Design for scale: throughput, indexing strategy, retention/lifecycle, and cost on Elasticsearch/OpenSearch clusters.
- Mentor engineers through design docs, pairing, and code review; grow the team's depth in distributed systems and security engineering.
- Partner with SRE on capacity, incident response, and SLOs; partner with Security on threat modeling and secure-by-default defaults.
- Collaborate with product to break down roadmap themes into shippable increments and unblock delivery.
What you need to succeed:
- 7-11 years of professional software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a tech lead.
- Strong production experience in Go and Python
- Deep experience designing and operating multi-tenant SaaS with strict data isolation across partners/customers.
- Hands-on expertise with at least two of: Kafka, PostgreSQL at scale, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Cassandra.
- Experience building or operating high-throughput ingest / event pipelines (agents, syslog, integrations).
- Solid grasp of containerized deployment (Docker, Compose, or Kubernetes) and CI/CD.
- Practical security engineering: TLS/mTLS, PKI, secrets handling, OWASP Top 10, least-privilege design.
- Proven track record mentoring engineers and leading cross-team technical initiatives.
Nice to have
- MDR / SIEM / SOC tooling experience or background in security operations.
- ElastAlert, Sigma rules, or similar detection-as-code frameworks.
- Airflow DAG authoring and operating scheduled data jobs.
- ORM / query-builder design (we use bun heavily in Go).
- Performance tuning of OpenSearch / Elasticsearch indices, ILM, and retention.
- Proficient in leveraging AI-assisted development tools, building RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, and working with Vector Databases to enhance software engineering workflows and intelligent application capabilities.
