Job Accountabilities:
- Understanding client requirements in terms of product and factory, reporting to QA Manager. Work in close co-ordination with Merchandising teams.
- Stay up to date on Market requirements, technical upgradation, and technology upgrade in Apparel industry.
- Work on the technical aspects of the product – like appropriate raw material, process of construction, suitable finishes etc., so that the product is sampled within the target prices and the product is compatible to large scale production without any potential quality issues.
- Source new potential vendors on Apparel and identify other product opportunities for clients to drive more business.
- Conduct Technical Assessment and Evaluation of factories, evaluating their production capacity/capabilities and performance and accordingly advise the QA Manager
- Work closely with the QA Manager and tech team to identify current problems/potential problems, foresee technical issues in a product development cycle, and advise resolution to come up with a correctly function and quality product to the expectations of the client/s.
- Maintain regular contact with QA Manager and tech team to ensure that there is continuous feedback about the status, timelines, and quality of samples/products.
- Ensure all technical reports are made correctly as per the protocols and submitted on a timely manner.
- Guide the Technical team to investigate / identify the root cause of non-Conformity and then ensure the implementation of procedures to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity within the inspection service and management system for future orders.
- Help the Technical team coordinate with vendor representative in investigation reason and solution for quality issue and come up with corrective action plan (CAP)
- To develop training programs and conduct training sessions on technical standards, technical control systems and procedures, production technology and problem solving. Guide both the Merchant and the QA team about Fashion Industry.
- Understand and interpret systems/policies laid down by senior management to subordinates to facilitate understanding and compliance.
- Complete reasonable ad hoc tasks requested by superiors.
- Accompany clients during their visits to vendors and factories.
- Work closely with the merchants and involve in the product development process, including but not limited to review samples against specification and provide necessary report/recommendation, and support product improvement.
- Supervise PPM/Pilot Run/FSR and other technical activities to ensure it is conducted as per Client requirements.
- Review day to day technician’s reports and other documents and confirm the work done and the reports generated are as per requirement of work on new styles and implement the PD comments and construction methods into production.
- The candidate shall be required to provide quick solutions to Technician / QA team on product and packaging issues. In doing so, the candidate shall drive appropriate communication with all departments and follow through to resolutions.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate / Degree / Diploma in Apparel.
- 10-12 Years of experience in Technical Line.
- Travelled for successful Business Development.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written), including the use of MS Word and Excel.
