Having knowledge in document creation like - SOP, Process Map, FMEA, RCA, Error Log, CTQ, Reporting, SLA etc.

Job Responsibilities
The General Ledger Regional Lead is responsible for reviewing, validating, and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of GL activities across the Record to Report (R2R) process and coordinating with the FCs and RFCs . This role focuses on governance, control checks, error detection, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal policies.
- Lead and supervise the posting of journal entries including accruals, prepayments, adjustments, and reclassifications in accordance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Review and approve complex or high value journal entries prepared by the team.
- Manage and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Ensure timely preparation and posting of closing entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
- Monitor close calendars and ensure cross-functional teams adhere to timelines.
- Oversee preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, including:
o Sub-ledger reconciliations
o Bank reconciliations
o Intercompany settlements
o Fixed assets
o Prepayments & accruals
- Ensure reconciliation issues are addressed promptly and root causes are resolved.
- Support the preparation and review of financial statements: Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow, and management reports.
- Conduct and review GL scrutiny and variance analysis to identify anomalies, unusual trends, or discrepancies.
- Recommend corrective actions and ensure proper documentation of findings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors.
- Provide required schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and clarifications during audits.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control frameworks.
- Coordinate with AP, AR, FP&A, Operations, and Business Units to ensure accurate financial data flow and timely resolution of accounting issues.
- Manage intercompany accounting and ensure alignment between entities.
