Job Description – Costing & Procurement Engineer

Location: Coimbatore
Job Purpose
Responsible for project cost estimation and procurement execution, ensuring accurate costing, optimized sourcing, and timely material availability to support profitability and smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare preliminary and final project cost estimates and quotations
· Perform process-based costing (machining, fabrication, assembly)
· Develop and manage vendors for cost-effective sourcing
· Handle RFQs, compare quotes, and finalize suppliers
· Negotiate pricing and identify cost optimization opportunities
· Create execution plans (process flow, vendor allocation, timelines)
· Plan and track material procurement and movement
· Coordinate with Design, Sales, and Operations teams
· Monitor estimated vs actual cost and improve accuracy
· Maintain costing, vendor, and procurement documentation
Key Performance
· Cost estimation accuracy vs actuals
· Cost savings achieved
· Vendor performance (cost, quality, delivery)
· On-time material availability
· Bought out availability & sourcing.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
· 5–7 years’ experience in costing/procurement
Skills
· Manufacturing & machining knowledge
· Cost analysis & negotiation
· Vendor management
· Planning & coordination
· Strong analytical skills
Key Note
This role bridges costing and procurement, directly impacting project profitability and execution efficiency
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
