The Area Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets, expanding market share, managing distributors and sales teams, and ensuring effective execution of sales strategies within an assigned geographic area. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, maintaining customer relationships, and improving market penetration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Manage and motivate the sales team to maximize performance and productivity.
- Appoint, develop, and monitor distributors, dealers, and retailers within the assigned territory.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Ensure product availability and visibility across all sales channels.
- Conduct regular market visits to strengthen customer relationships and resolve issues.
- Analyze sales performance and prepare reports for senior management.
- Forecast sales and manage inventory levels with distributors.
- Train and coach sales representatives on selling techniques and product knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing, and promotional programs.
- Coordinate with marketing, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth business operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in sales, preferably in FMCG, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, industrial products, or retail.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in distributor and channel management.
