About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team and build scalable data ingestion solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing the Bronze data layer, transforming raw and complex source data into structured datasets using PostgreSQL while ensuring performance, scalability, and data quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the Bronze data layer for data ingestion.
- Develop scalable PostgreSQL schemas, staging tables, and partitioning strategies.
- Transform raw and semi-structured data (JSON/XML) into structured, ingestion-ready datasets.
- Define and maintain source-to-target mappings, metadata, and data lineage.
- Build and implement data validation, reconciliation, and error logging frameworks.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and efficient load strategies.
- Handle schema evolution and data quality challenges across multiple source systems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional data engineering teams.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Ingestion.
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and partitioning.
- Good understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Experience working with semi-structured data such as JSON and XML.
- Experience building and maintaining high-volume data ingestion pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms or data lakes.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and modern data engineering practices.
