A Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preparing guest rooms and related areas to ensure a comfortable, safe, and pleasant stay for guests, typically in hotels, resorts, hospitals, or guest houses.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Room Cleaning
- Clean and tidy guest rooms according to company standards.
- Make beds and change bed linens.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
- Vacuum carpets and mop floors.
- Clean bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and mirrors.
Room Preparation
- Prepare rooms for arriving guests.
- Replace used towels and toiletries.
- Replenish room amenities such as soap, shampoo, tea, coffee, and drinking water.
- Ensure all room equipment is functioning properly.
Inspection and Reporting
- Inspect rooms for cleanliness and maintenance issues.
- Report damaged furniture, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Report lost and found items according to hotel procedures.
Guest Service
- Respond politely to guest requests and inquiries.
- Provide additional supplies such as towels, pillows, or blankets when requested.
- Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality.
Public Area Maintenance
- Assist in cleaning corridors, stairways, elevators, and other public areas when required.
- Keep housekeeping carts and storage areas organized.
Safety and Hygiene
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment correctly.
- Follow procedures for handling hazardous materials and waste.
