Job Title: Construction Procurement Manager
Department: Procurement / Supply Chain
Reporting To: Managing Director / Head of Projects
Location: Chennai (with travel to project sites across India)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Procurement Manager to lead procurement for infrastructure, industrial, commercial, institutional, and renewable energy projects. The role includes strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, cost optimization, and ensuring timely procurement while maintaining quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop procurement strategies for multiple projects.
· Source materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services.
· Obtain competitive quotations and conduct techno-commercial evaluations.
· Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and contracts.
· Maintain approved vendor database and evaluate vendor performance.
· Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely material availability.
· Prepare Purchase Orders, Work Orders, and Rate Contracts.
· Monitor inventory and optimize stock levels.
· Ensure compliance with procurement policies and statutory requirements.
· Track market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
· MBA in Operations/Supply Chain (Preferred).
Experience
· 8–15 years in construction/infrastructure procurement.
· Experience with projects valued at ₹20 Crores and above.
Technical Skills
· Knowledge of construction materials and specifications.
· Vendor negotiation, contract management, ERP systems, Advanced Excel, BOQ interpretation.
Soft Skills
· Negotiation, leadership, communication, analytical ability, integrity.
KPIs
· Cost savings, on-time delivery, procurement cycle time, vendor performance, budget adherence.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
