Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Role Overview
As part of the Mahindra Auto Accessories team, the Manager – NPD Engineer (Sheet Metal) will be responsible for the development of sheet metal components across vehicle and accessory programs. This role will drive end-to-end product development activities for body panels, closures, and structural components, ensuring robust design, manufacturability, quality, and timely project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Sheet Metal Product Development
Develop sheet metal components for body panels, closures, structural parts, and related automotive applications.
Ensure designs meet functional, quality, cost, weight, and manufacturability requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Tooling Development & Manufacturing Readiness
Manage tooling development activities from concept through production implementation.
Oversee die development, press trials, and process validation to ensure production readiness and quality compliance.
Engineering Validation & GD&T Reviews
Conduct GD&T reviews and dimensional analysis to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
Lead dimensional validation activities, ensuring components meet fit, form, and functional requirements.
Supplier Coordination & Development
Coordinate with stamping suppliers, body shop suppliers, and manufacturing partners to support product development and launch activities.
Education Qualification
Experience & Qualifications
4–5 years of experience in sheet metal design, automotive body engineering, stamping, or new product development.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience in automotive OEM, Tier-1 supplier, or automotive component manufacturing environments preferred.
Hands-on experience in tooling development, dimensional validation, and supplier management is highly desirable.

Key Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in sheet metal design and component development.
Hands-on expertise with CATIA for 3D modeling and design validation.
Strong knowledge of GD&T principles and application in automotive components.
Experience in tooling development and supplier coordination.
