Role Overview
We are looking for an Engineer – Spool Outsourcing (PPC) who will be responsible for material planning, subcontracting/outsourcing coordination, job scheduling, vendor follow-up, and project progress monitoring to ensure spool fabrication activities are completed as per the required schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and raise Material Purchase Requisitions (PR) based on project requirements.
- Coordinate with Purchase/Buyers for material procurement and follow up on delivery status.
- Check material availability and inventory before planning jobs.
- Coordinate for material feeding to the shop as per production requirements.
- Follow up for GRIN clearance and ensure timely material release.
- Maintain positive material recall/traceability and ensure material availability for planned jobs.
- Coordinate and monitor outside processing / subcontracting activities with vendors.
- Prepare job schedules for outsourced spool fabrication activities.
- Track and monitor vendor progress against planned schedules.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding material, drawings, fabrication status, inspection, and dispatch/return of jobs.
- Coordinate with Design/Engineering for drawings, revisions, technical clarifications, and job requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, Stores, and other departments to resolve project-related issues.
- Monitor project/job progress and highlight delays or bottlenecks.
- Support import and export item coordination as required.
- Prepare and maintain planning reports, MIS, and progress tracking sheets.
- Use Primavera / MS Project for job scheduling and monitoring.
- Support estimation of equipment/spool fabrication requirements as required.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Experience in PPC, production planning, material planning, or spool fabrication.
- Understanding of piping spool fabrication and subcontracting/outsourcing processes.
- Knowledge of Material PR, inventory, material tracking, and purchase follow-up.
- Experience in vendor/subcontractor coordination.
- Working knowledge of Primavera and/or MS Project.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/SAP.
- Ability to coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Production, Quality, Design, and vendors.
- Good communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and meet strict project deadlines.
