Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior MEP Engineer to lead and supervise all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities at the construction site. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in MEP systems, project execution, quality control, safety compliance, vendor coordination, and timely project delivery. The role requires close coordination with civil, architectural, and structural teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP services.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical
- Plan, execute, and supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems, ventilation, firefighting systems, pumps, generators, and other mechanical equipment.
- Ensure mechanical installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants for mechanical works.
- Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities during project execution.
Electrical
- Supervise installation and commissioning of HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, cabling, electrical wiring, lighting systems, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with utility authorities for electrical approvals and inspections.
- Review electrical load calculations, single-line diagrams, and electrical layouts.
- Monitor electrical testing, commissioning, and documentation.
Plumbing
- Supervise installation of water supply, drainage, sewage, storm water, rainwater harvesting, and plumbing systems.
- Ensure proper execution of plumbing works as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate testing of pipelines, pressure testing, and leak detection.
- Monitor installation of pumps, water tanks, and sanitary fixtures.
Project Execution
- Plan, schedule, and monitor all MEP activities to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate with civil, architectural, structural, and finishing teams to avoid execution conflicts.
- Review MEP drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical issues.
- Monitor contractor performance, manpower deployment, and productivity.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Quality Control
- Ensure all MEP installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, IS codes, NBC, and relevant international standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality audits.
- Prepare snag lists and ensure timely closure.
- Verify material quality before installation.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all site safety regulations and company HSE policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks and promote safe work practices.
- Coordinate with the Safety Department during inspections and audits.
Vendor & Client Coordination
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Evaluate technical proposals and approve material submittals.
- Participate in technical meetings and progress review meetings.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Maintain records of inspections, testing, commissioning, and as-built drawings.
- Prepare material reconciliation reports and work progress updates.
- Support preparation of project handover documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (preferred), or an equivalent engineering qualification.
- Additional certification in MEP, HVAC, Firefighting, or Project Management is an added advantage.
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in MEP execution for residential, commercial, high-rise, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in handling complete MEP works independently from planning to commissioning.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
- Expertise in HVAC, Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, Electrical Distribution, Plumbing, Drainage, STP, WTP, Pumps, DG Sets, Lift Coordination, and Building Services.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of IS Codes, National Building Code (NBC), electrical regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of MS Project or Primavera is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP/project management software is an advantage.
