Role Overview:
The IT Executive (Hardware & Software) is responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure including desktops, laptops, printers, networking devices, software applications, and system security within the campus. The role ensures smooth functioning of daily IT operations and provides technical support to all users.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Support
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, projectors, CCTV systems, biometric devices, and other IT peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware failures, component replacements, and warranty claims.
- Maintain asset inventory.
Software & System Support
- Install & activate licensed software (Windows, MS Office, Antivirus, CRM tools, ERP, Adobe etc.).
- Troubleshoot OS issues, application errors, system crashes and software updates.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing & prevent unauthorized installations.
Network & Connectivity
- LAN/Wi-Fi setup, IP allocation, router/switch configuration (basic level), Network cabling.
- Coordinate with network vendors/ISP for downtime, speed issues & uptime monitoring.
- Support firewall, VPN access, shared drive, server access & email configuration.
Security & Backup
- Ensure antivirus installation, updates, system patches & disk encryption.
- Monitor data backup schedule for key machines & shared drives.
- Report security breaches, cyber threats & system misuse.
User Support & Ticket Handling
- Provide end-user support for system login, email issues, printer setup, software access, etc.
- Respond to IT service requests and resolve issues within defined SLA timelines.
- Prepare incident reports and maintain IT support logs.
Documentation & Coordination
- Maintain IT asset register, repair logbook, IP allocation sheet, and consumable stock.
- Coordinate with external vendors for IT procurement, AMC repair, and spare part sourcing.
- Assist in setup of smart classrooms, lab systems, seminar hall AV support, exam setups, etc.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of Windows/Mac OS installation, formatting, and configuration
- Knowledge of LAN, IP addressing, routers, switches, Wi-Fi setup
- Basic networking & troubleshooting skills (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, firewall etc.)
- Experience with CRM/ERP software support (optional but preferred)
- Good communication & problem-solving ability
- Ability to handle pressure and multi-task across departments
Pay: ₹240,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
