Facilitator – Child Care Institutions
Children in child care institutions deserve to get holistic learning opportunities like anybody
else. This position offers an excellent and challenging opportunity to work closely with children
who are among the most marginalized and help them transform their lives through our
facilitation.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create activity and session plans for children in children’s home based on the needs of
the children and the program goals
- Execute the plan with team in consultation with program coordinator
- Coordinating with different stakeholders (especially staff of the Institutions) and maintain
good relationships
- Preparing for every session and facilitate sessions as planned with the activity and
simulation-based sessions (focused on Life skills, Creative development and physical
development of the children)
- Facilitate all sessions with a non-judgmental and child centric approach
- Create activities and worksheets on different themes for remote and self-led learning of
children
- Involving in planning and coordinating live online events with children and staff of CCIs
- Planning, coordinating and involving in conducting of events and camps at the Children’s
Homes
- Supporting the staff of the institutions in counselling and providing psycho-social support
to needy children in the institutions
- Maintain detailed documentation related to the program process and children progress
- Participate in periodic review meetings held in the organization
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports
- Observe and capture impact of the intervention (including case studies, testimonials and
evidences of program outcomes)
- Participate actively in trainings and capacity building events conducted by the
organization
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors’ degree or Master’s Degree (preferably in Humanities, Social Work, Psychology)
- Work experience: 2 to 4 years, preferably in NGOs and with children
- Women candidates will get preference (for working with girls’ Homes)
- Passion and high levels of commitment to work with children from marginalized sections
- Excellent facilitation skills, patience, empathetic attitude and innovativeness
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to confidently interact with officials of the
institutions
- Open to learning and innovating – not afraid of failure
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess strong documentation skills, especially w.r.t capturing observations, track record
of children’s progress and case studies
- Ability to respond to the changing dynamics within the program
- Languages: English & Kannada (read/write/speak) and Hindi (speak)
Reporting: The position shall report to Coordinator - CCI
