About the Role
Vilcart Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a highly motivated and result-oriented Area Sales Manager to drive sales growth across Karnataka. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in FMCG sales and distribution, preferably from brands such as Aachi, Gold Winner, Freedom Oil, Fortune, Saffola, Sunpure, GRB, MTR, ITC, Britannia, Parle, Nandini, or other leading FMCG organizations.
The role involves managing distributor networks, expanding retail coverage, driving primary and secondary sales, developing rural markets, and leading field sales teams to achieve aggressive business targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
· Drive primary and secondary sales across assigned Karnataka territories.
· Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
· Identify new business opportunities and expand market penetration.
· Develop territory growth plans to increase revenue and market share.
· Ensure consistent growth in General Trade and Rural Markets.
Distributor & Channel Management
· Appoint, manage, and develop distributors across Karnataka.
· Strengthen distributor relationships to improve business performance.
· Monitor distributor ROI, stock availability, claims, and collections.
· Ensure effective retailer coverage through distributors and field teams.
Retail & Market Expansion
· Expand product availability across General Trade, Modern Trade, and Rural Markets.
· Increase outlet coverage and retailer engagement.
· Drive merchandising, visibility, and promotional activities.
· Execute trade schemes, retailer activation programs, and market campaigns.
Team Management
· Lead and mentor Sales Officers, Territory Sales Executives, and field sales representatives.
· Conduct market visits, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
· Track team productivity, outlet coverage, and target achievement.
· Build a high-performance sales culture across the territory.
Trade Marketing & Execution
· Execute trade marketing initiatives and sales promotion activities.
· Coordinate product launches and market activation campaigns.
· Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
· Ensure effective implementation of POSM and branding activities.
Operations & Reporting
· Monitor sales forecasts, stock planning, and inventory movement.
· Ensure timely collections and adherence to company credit policies.
· Prepare periodic sales reports, market intelligence reports, and business reviews.
· Coordinate with supply chain and operations teams for smooth order fulfillment.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or related field.
· MBA preferred.
Experience
· 8–15 years of experience in FMCG Sales, Distribution, Channel Sales, or Retail Expansion.
· Candidates from Aachi, Gold Winner, Freedom Oil, Fortune, Saffola, Sunpure, MTR, GRB, ITC, Britannia, Parle, or similar FMCG companies are highly preferred.
· Strong experience in distributor management and Karnataka market development.
