Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer / Senior Application Engineer with strong expertise in large size industrial bearings. The role involves technical application support, bearing selection, engineering calculations, and customer interface for heavy-duty industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities1. Customer Application Support
- Interact with customers to understand operating conditions, loads, duty cycles, and environmental constraints.
- Act as the primary technical contact for performance, reliability, and application-related queries.
- Support sales teams during RFQs and technical solution finalization.
2. Bearing Selection & Engineering Calculations
- Perform static & dynamic load rating calculations.
- Conduct bearing life calculations (L10, modified life).
- Recommend clearances, fits, mounting arrangements, materials, heat treatment, and sealing solutions.
- Ensure compliance with standards and customer technical specifications.
3. Design Review & NPI Support
- Review customer drawings and convert them into engineering inputs for internal design teams.
- Support NPD/customization, prototypes, PPAP, validation, and sample development.
4. Failure Analysis & Field Support
- Conduct/lead failure investigations and root cause analysis.
- Recommend corrective & preventive actions.
- Provide onsite support during commissioning, trials, and critical performance issues.
5. Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Prepare application reports, technical proposals, design validation documents, and failure analysis reports.
- Maintain project and customer documentation in internal systems.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Sales, Design Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
- Support customer audits, reviews, and technical meetings.
Required Experience
- 5–12 years in bearing application engineering or rotating equipment.
- Exposure to large diameter bearings, slewing rings, or heavy rotating components is preferred.
