Role Overview
The Enterprise Architect (EA) is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the enterprise-wide technology architecture across multi-product platforms in banking, e-commerce, and e-learning domains. The role ensures alignment between business strategy, product roadmaps, and technology execution, while enabling scalability, security, performance, and long-term sustainability.
The EA establishes architectural standards and guardrails for cloud-native, API-driven, and domain-aligned platforms, and works closely with Solution Architects, Engineering Leads, Product, Security, and Business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture blueprints, principles, standards, and reference architectures
- Translate business and product strategy into target-state and transition architectures
- Lead architecture governance and review solution designs for alignment, scalability, security, and compliance
- Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and modernization opportunities
- Define enterprise cloud strategy across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS deployment models
- Govern cloud-native application design using managed services, containers, and platform services
- Drive best practices for scalability, resilience, availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization
- Ensure alignment between application architecture and cloud operations (DevOps, SRE)
- Establish enterprise standards for microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs, and event-driven systems
- Define integration patterns for internal services and third-party platforms
- Ensure loose coupling, reuse, and interoperability across multiple GTI products
- Define enterprise data architecture covering transactional, analytical, and streaming workloads
- Govern database usage, data consistency, performance, and data lifecycle management
- Ensure data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance across platforms
- Define enterprise security architecture covering IAM, encryption, secure APIs, and data protection
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOC2, etc)
- Embed security-by-design principles across all platforms and delivery teams
- Guide technology modernization initiatives and adoption of emerging technologies
- Mentor Solution Architects, Tech Leads, and senior engineers on architectural best practices
- Act as a strategic bridge between business leadership and engineering teams
- Clearly communicate architectural decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
