Job Summary
The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing civil engineering works within the shipyard, including dry docks, slipways, berths, quay walls, industrial buildings, roads, drainage systems, utilities, and infrastructure projects. The role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects in the shipyard.
- Supervise construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation of marine and industrial infrastructure.
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contractor submissions.
- Coordinate with naval architects, mechanical, electrical, and production teams.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, engineering codes, and HSE requirements.
- Conduct structural assessments and recommend repair or strengthening measures.
- Prepare project schedules, budgets, cost estimates, and progress reports.
- Monitor contractor performance, quality, and project milestones.
- Manage inspections, testing, and commissioning of civil works.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support procurement by preparing technical specifications and evaluating bids.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer registration/licensure is an advantage.
- 10–15 years of experience in civil engineering, with significant experience in shipyards, ports, marine infrastructure, or heavy industrial projects.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structures.
- Experience with marine structures such as jetties, quay walls, dry docks, and berths.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar engineering software.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Knowledge of relevant international standards (ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, BS, ASTM, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
