Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Social Science Teacher to inspire students and foster a deep understanding of history, geography, civics, economics, and social responsibility. The ideal candidate will create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and curiosity.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Social Science lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
- Teach subjects such as History, Geography, Civics, and Economics to middle school students.
- Develop lesson plans, assessments, worksheets, and project-based learning activities.
- Assess student progress through tests, assignments, presentations, and classroom participation.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and active learning.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into classroom instruction.
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and awareness of current social and global issues.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and assessment reports.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, school events, and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure classroom discipline and adhere to school policies and child safeguarding guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Social Science, Education, or a related field.
- B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred or required, as per school policy).
- Prior teaching experience in middle school is preferred.
- Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills.
